Dutch Space has a track record of developing and building scientific instruments. Example of this is the involvement of Dutch Space in Sciamachy, omi and mipas. Each of these instrument belong to the best of their kind.

In november 2004, Dutch Space, together with National Institute for Space Research (sron) and tno establish a consortium for the joint development of instruments for future international space missions. A more active role of the Netherlands in the area of space instrumentation is expected to provide an important stimulus for both scientific research as for Dutch industry.
