This web site provides several paper model kits, including some Earh in the shape of a dodecahedron (a Platonic solid composed of twelve pentagonal faces). Each of the twelve faces is a page on a downloadable Acrobat PDF document.

Print the PDF document, cut out the faces and glue them together - and you will have your own globe based on real satellite pictures.
Some tips:
- first print an inexpensive black & white copy of the paper kit to experiment with
- print single-sided
- make certain that your printer driver scales all pages in the same amount - if the scaling differs from page to page the faces will not fit.
